The Automated Testing Handbook
This handbook provides a good introduction to test automation and an overview of key technical concepts. It helps the reader to select a test-automation approach and to choose the right testing process.

09/17/2003I found the book to be quite refreshing. The author touched on a lot of questions, issues, and drawbacks of automated testing. I highly recommend this book not only for the Quality Assurance department/team, but also everyone involved in ensuring the success of an organization. Testing is as important as the commodity or software/hardware, and jumping into an automated test tool without doing some homework first can be tragic. As she stressed, it is important to have buy-in from middle management and upper management, and this cannot happen overnight. The use of simple graphics was perfect for a new or junior tester who may not be quite familiar with system/diagram flow.
This handbook was very well thought out and can add value to all businesses, whether hardware, software, medical, government agency, etc. The author maintained a direction while writing, which clearly shows through the entire book.
